Welcome to another edition of #AusFIWeekly. It’s Michelle here from FrugalityandFreedom.com, bringing you this regular selection of great Financial Independence links, news, and events from Australia and abroad.
Welcome to another guest curator, who has chosen a great list of FI content they’ve enjoyed recently. Say hello to Ana Kresina! Over to you…
Heyo, I’m Ana, I’m a Canadian expat living in Australia, and my website, anakresina.com is documentation of my journey to financial independence in order to inspire others to do the same.
I’m passionate about environmentalism, minimalism, and optimizing all aspects of my life. When I’m not doing product management in my real job, I’m most likely adventuring, being an awesome parent, or reading too many financial blogs. Also, I can’t live without cheese.

Australian Links
Ana says: Some of my biggest FIRE inspiration came from Mr. Money Moustache, Paula Pant from Afford Anything, and ChooseFI. But since most of those are well known, I’ll share some of my other favourites, especially those I’ve been consuming more recently via social and podcasts. Here is my must-consume-list.
Ana Kresina from anakresina.com | @anakresina
Alright, so I’ll add my own content to the mix. One of my articles that gets the most hits is 3 best ways to invest for a child. I wrote this when I went down the rabbit hole of figuring out what works best for my kid and our family. In this article I look at the three most popular options for investing and walk through the pros and cons of each. Enjoy!
Aleks from @brokegirlwealth
Some of my favourite content is from Aleks from @brokegirlwealth on Instagram. She’s a savvy lawyer who shares awesome investing and saving tips. She’s got a lot of resources for people who are starting out on their journey. I love her entertaining and non-judgemental style, plus her heritage is from the Balkans like my family’s, and I totally connect to that.
Queenie Tan from @investwithqueenie
I remember coming across Queenie’s YouTube channel when she only had a handful of videos. I knew right away that she was going to smash it with her quirky snippets and educational videos. She’s a great resource for anyone starting out, especially younger investors.
Tash from tashinvests.com | @tashinvests
Tash does a great job of sharing investing content and the tracking of her net worth.
Aussie Firebug from aussiefirebug.com
This blog was one of the first Australian FIRE blogs I came across once moving to Australia. I’ve been following his net worth tracking alongside my own, plus enjoy his podcast as well.
International Links
Emma from TheBrokeGeneration.com (Australia/UK)
What I love about Emma’s content is that she’s also an expat and is all about being a boss with your money without sacrificing your lifestyle. I also think she’s hilarious. Plus, if you’re into cat cameos, her Instagram content is for you @the.brokegeneration.
Jessica Moorehouse from More Money (Canada)
I’ve been a fan of Jessica’s for some time now, her upbeat, inquisitive, and informative interviewing style makes her podcast both digestible and informative. Although she focuses mainly on Canadian investing and personal finance, her tips are useful regardless of country.
Kornel Szrejber from BuildWealthCanada.ca (Canada)
Kornel’s journey is an inspiring one, in which he paid off his mortgage by the age of 29. His podcast interviews are a great way to learn about investing and finance, as he’s well informed of the nuances of investing and money in general.
Thanks again to Ana Kresina for picking today’s links. Read her blog posts about life, money and career at anakresina.com
